Ocean inspired works
“For whatever we lose (like a you or a me), It’s always our self we find in the sea.” – E.E. Cummings.
It is said that life began and came forth from the oceans of the world, so the ocean can be a symbol of the womb.
Known for being unpredictable and uncontrollable, hard to navigate in time of storm and sometimes known for being beautifully calm; always at it’s own will or Neptune’s (Roman god of the sea).
The Ocean is a place where you leave your bad memories and sadness, a place of hope, truth, and in some cases, mystery and magic.

Birds, boats and suitcases
What is it about suitcases that fascinate us so. Those old leathery cases with stamps and tags that smell of past adventures. Suitcases hold within them parts of who we are. And when we travel, they hold and represent us wholly. They are our ‘home’ our ‘room’ our sense of belonging.
Boats as vessels that represent the ‘Journey of life’. I was fortunate to be part of a three month sailing journey and this experience became a very prominent metaphor in my work.
Birds represent our boundless nature. Our sense of freedom with no holdbacks. Soaring the skies and living with purpose.
The symbol of the lantern represents an individual, a person of courage who chooses to live their lives with integrity by upholding their own values.
