Deciduus – fine art and plant boutique

Shane and I have been very busy and we finally opened a new concept gallery in Tirau, called Deciduus. A fine art and plant boutique specialising in painting, photography and ceramics with the addition of indoor plants.

For our first exhibition we have collaborated with some fabulous New Zealand artists and makers and Shane, a horticulturist by trade, chose an ‘easy to care for’ selection of indoor plants and planters by Morris and James and Fume, to complete the Deciduus indoor collection.

Follow our journey on Facebook: Deciduus – Create Grow Collaborate.

About Santie

An accidental traveller who shares life’s journeys on canvas. Originally from South Africa, Santie studied Art at school and completed a Bachelors of Arts at the University of Pretoria in 1994.

Her preferred medium is Acrylics, with its quick drying times and low toxicity. Santie uses thin layers and washes to create different moods and light effects.

“My narrative pieces often depict Journeys and ‘life happenings’ influenced by my travels, – Love, the Ocean, the Moon and Mother Nature”.

Her style has been described  as “a delicate simplicity and elegance, which touches the childlike side of the heart”

Santie is represented by a handful of selected galleries with her work held in private collections in New Zealand and abroad.
